Long time Spirit of Life UU member and cherished lay leader, LeAnn Kahl, will share a thought provoking sermon on the condition of women worldwide, in her July 8th service.
“Assault on women has been a recurring theme in civilization going back for centuries,” says Ms. Kahl. ” How can we stop this, when will it end?
Adult discussion and youth programs begin at 10am. In Adult Discussion, we’ll be looking at the relationship between Science and Religion. “Religion and science are the two wings upon which man’s intelligence can soar into the heights, with which the human soul can progress. It is not possible to fly with one wing alone!” (`Abdu’l-Bahá, Paris Talks, pg. 143). Experimental Physicist Stephen Friberg draws on the Bahai faith, which he says maintains that “true” science and “true” religion are completely compatible. So what’s true science and true religion? Can we define them?
In our youth program, our youngest members will be considering what it means to welcome “one and all.”
After the service, join us for coffee and conversation. All are welcome!
