Throughout the rest of September, Spirit of Life Unitarian Universalists will continue welcoming guest speakers and religious leaders from a diversity of faiths and interests, to give members and guests an opportunity to better understand our religious and spiritual neighbors.
On Sunday, September 9th, at 11 AM, Spirit of Life UU founding member, Rick Hallmark, will lead us on an exploration of Taoism , an ancient Chinese religion rooted in the teachings of the Tao te Ching, based on the teachings of Lao Tsu, and emphazing wu-wei (action through non-action), “naturalness”, simplicity, spontaneity, and the Three Treasures: compassion, moderation, and humility. Hallmark will also help us see the intersections of Taoism and Unitarian Universalism.
Youth and Adult discussion programs begin at 10 Am. In Adult Discussion: Science and the Roots of Faith – why a recent study says men, scientists, professors and the British are less likely to believe in God than women, children and Americans.
All are welcome to join in services and religious education programs and for coffee and conversation after the service.
