Sunday Sermon – March 3: Top Ten Reasons Liberal Religion Still Matters

We do well to pause every now and then, says Rev. Donald Rollins,  just to take stock of our liberating message.  Join us at 11 am to hear this thought provoking message.

Youth and adult programs begin at 10am. In our adult Community Conversation program, we’ll be considering the idea that “There’s No Such Thing as Everlasting Love.” At least  according to science, says psychologist Barbara Fredrickson.  In her new book “Love 2.0: How Our Supreme Emotion Affects Everything We Feel, Think, Do, and Become”, Frederickson offers a radically new conception of love, presenting scientific evidence to argue that love is not what we think it is. It is not a long-lasting, continually present emotion that sustains a marriage; it is not the yearning and passion that characterizes young love; and it is not the blood-tie of kinship. Rather, it is what she calls a “micro-moment of positivity resonance.”

Coffee and conversation continue after service in the kitchen and parlor.
