Sunday Sermon May 12: Honor thy Mother

At 11am, Rev Bonnie Devlin leads us on an exploration of the part of the Ten Commandments tells us to ‘Honor thy Mother and Father’, a value deeply ingrained in most of us. On this Mother’s Day we can certainly celebrate our mothers and Motherhood, yet let us not forget the Mother of us all: Gaia, our Mother Earth. Let’s reflect on the importance of our Eco-Spiritual relationship with our Mother Earth, and explore both ecology and more importantly ‘Deep’ Ecology as a primary world-view and point of action for us all.

Youth and Adult programs being at 10am. In our Community Conversations program at 10am, we’ll consider “freedom” through a look at a new “infographic” that purports to show the “Freest States in America” –and through a customizable database offers an interesting number of ways to look at just which freedoms we value most.
