The sermon, “Global Warming: Still Inconvenient and Still True” will be led by Dr. Rick Hallmark. While members of congress and other skeptics continue to argue that Global Warming is a hoax, says Dr. Hallmark, our climate continues to heat up. He will examine some of the recent evidence of climatic change and some of the potential disasters that could result from our failure to take action.
Youth and adult programs begin at 10 am. The Keystone Book Club leads our Community Conversations on the 3rd Sunday and will lead us on a journey of Utopic visions and their manifestations through history, through the book Arcadia, by Lauren Groff, which the NY Times describes as “so immersed in the life of a hippie commune that patchouli ought to waft off its pages. It’s a novel of the 1960s and ’70s in which acid is dropped, groats are served, “Froggie Went A Courtin’ ” is sung, a cult leader is worshiped and somebody literally hugs a tree.” Anyone can join in the Keystone Book Club at any time. While having read the book of the month enriches the book club experience, our discussions of the topics and issues raised by the books we read can be appreciated by all and participation is welcome whether or not you have read the book.
This is also our potluck Sunday – bring a dish to share or just join in! All are welcome!
