Youth and adult religious education programs begin at 10am. In our adult Community Conversations, we’ll consider the Global Workspace theory and the riddle of consciousness. The global-workspace theory rests on the fact that it is possible to see something without being aware of it. Recent studies looking at the brain waves of babies between five and fifteen months old, aimed at constructing what the scientists refer to as a “biological signature of consciousness” and raised more questions about the nature of consciousness.
