Sunday Sermon, August 25 11am: The New Normal

This Sunday, we welcome back our minister emeritus, Rev. Alec Craig , as he shares his sermon, “The New Normal” at 11am. When major events occur in our lives do we ever go back to normal? Rev. Craig will draw on the likes of  C. S. Lewis and S. Kierkegaard as we consider “normal”.

At 10am in our Community Conversations adult discussion program, our topic will be ” Taking Non-belief Seriously.” When young atheists were recently polled by a Christian writer about why they left Christianity, he interpreted their objections as matters of style, not substance. That’s not accurate or fair, says atheist writer Jeffrey Taylor. Especially when recent studies show that nearly one in five people have no religious affiliation. We’ll take a look at the story and some considerations on the topic.
