Sunday Sermon Sept. 23, 11am: Water Communion

On Sunday, September 23, Worship Associate Bonnie Dassing leads our annual Water Communion Ceremony, where church members, friends and guests bring water from their summer journeys to share with the congregation in a communal bowl to symbolize our connectedness.

Youth and adult programs begin at 10am. In our adult Community Conversations group, we’ll look at the topic, “Can science deliver the comforts of religion?” A recent article in Salon, suggests we “rethink the way evolutionary ideas are presented, and work to improve people’s understanding of the ways in which natural selection is—and is not—a random and unpredictable process. …. There are patterns in the natural world, and grasping them can be revelatory.”
