Sunday Sermon December 1st, 11 am: Celebrating Chanukah

Long time Spirit of Life UU member, Diana Dechichio, leads us in celebration of the joy and history of this Jewish holiday, which this year began on Thanksgiving.

Youth and Adult programs begin at 10am.  In our Community Conversations adult discussion, we’ll be considering “The Power of Gratitude”.   Research has shown that practicing gratitude increases students’ positive emotions and optimism, decreases their negative emotions and physical symptoms, and makes them feel more connected and satisfied with school and with life in general – with subjects who are upper middle class students in middle or high schools.  Does that theory hold water in other circumstances and other socioeconomic situations?  Join us for some thoughtful conversation and holiday considerations.
