In Celebration of Stewardship!

It’s our great pleasure to announce the beginning of our stewardship campaign for 2014-2015 – that time of year when we take the opportunity to financially support our programs, building needs and overall ministry.  This may not sound like something to celebrate, on the face of it, the discussion of finances in a place generally reserved for discussions of spiritual, theological and philosophical considerations.  But ours is a truly strong congregation, with a serous grasp on the realities of ministry, and we cherish the opportunity to our annual Stewardship drive presents us, to reassess who we are , where we are, and where we want to be.

One of the keys to Spirit of Life UUs bright future is financial health. To that end, the Board of Trustees of Spirit of Life UU kicks off our Annual Stewardship Drive on March 23,  as a “2nd New Year” – an exciting time to reflect on our amazing past, and think about our future and the possibilities it holds.

The financial gifts of members and friends matter. Just consider our many notable achievements during the 2013-2014 budget year:

  • Robust, active and growing online presence through our website and social media.
  • A fresh and updated newsletter that reflects our mission and goals.
  • Our third year of Community Learning Center classes providing lifelong learning opportunities in the community.
  • Our newly-formed Events Committee hosting two great public programs.
  • Monthly Social Action Film Series
  • A growing youth LRE program.
  • A new quarter time minister,  Rev. Don Rollins, providing a monthly service and ministerial support .

These are the outward manifestations of our loving stewardship to our congregational community and our neighborhood, the things we give freely to one another.   It takes fiscal stewardship, however, to help  us bring our message of love and tolerance to a world that deeply needs our living example of both.   We look forward to hearing congregation members’ and friends’ visions for the future of Spirit of Life Unitarian Universalists and considering how we can make it happen together, through our shared resources.
