Sunday Service August 17 at 11am: Extinction Cycles and Waltzing Windmills

At our llam service, Rev. Roy Sniffens will give the service, “Extinction Cycles and Waltzing Windmills”.  We live in a new extinction cycle but there’s hope in the Iowa Cornfields. Deniers say we could run out of wind, too. What say you?

At 10am in the Kerwin Reading Room, next to the kitchen, our Keystone Book Club will look at Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption, by Laura Hillenbrand. Unbroken tells the story of Louis Zamperini, an Olympic medalist and WWII survivor, who was driven to the limits of endurance as a castaway and Japanese prisoner of war, and answered the challenges of his experiences with physical, intellectual and ultimately spiritual strength and fortitude.

Youth classes start at 11:30 where we’re exploring the seven principles of our Unitarian Universalist faith.
