Sunday Service February 8: “The Miller the Son and the Donkey”

Our adult Sunday Morning Community Conversations group meets each Sunday at 10am in the Kerwin Reading Room next to the kitchen. This Sunday, we’ll consider “The Wisdom Deficit in Schools.”  Writing for the Atlantic, English teacher Michael Godsey  says new education standards emphasize technical reading skills over an appreciation for literature and the deeper values it can instill, and says we’re shortchanging our students on secular opportunities to gain wisdom.

In our Youth LRE program, we’ll doing a little action oriented review of our 7th Principle: Respect for the Interdependent Web of Life, by doing our quarterly Adopt-a-Spot road clean up along Burrell Road at, and considering our beautiful grounds in the process.
