Sunday Sermon – Nov. 8 11am: Stewardship- A Life of Caring

Local writer and author (Makerspaces in Libraries, Rowman & Littlefield, 2015) and long time Spirit of Life UU member, Terri Willingham, leads us on a consideration of “Stewardship,” during our 11am service at Spirit of Life UU.

The dictionary defines stewardship as the “careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one’s care, ” says Willingham. “It’s a word usually applied in environmental discussions and also in traditional Christianity as a biblical imperative: “As each one was received as a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s wanted grace.” (Peter 4:10)

Join us to consider a life caring for one another and our shared spaces on earth.

At 10am, in adult discussion, we’ll look at Prosperity Theology, where faith is measured by success. It’s not a new idea , dating back to the early 1800s. We’ll take a look at the concept and its contemporary ramifications. Youth Religious Education begins at 11:30 and will feature a short film this Sunday.
