Sunday Sermon April 17 11am: Where There’s Smoke…There’s Passion

woman-1207671_960_720Rev. Roy Sniffen shares his sermon, “Where There’s Smoke … There’s Passion,” a look at what we value and a question (or two) about how much, really, we value it.

Join us at before the service, at 10am, for our Adult Discussion group, led on Third Sundays, by our Keystone Book Club. Our April read is, “The Human Age: The World Shaped by Us”, by Diane Ackerman. Prolific essayist and naturalist Ackerman (One Hundred Names for Love, 2011,etc.) offers absorbing commentary on both the positive and negative effects of human  consumption and innovation on the Earth, in which she calls us an ever increasing population of “nomads with restless minds…”  It’s not necessary to have read the book to enjoy the discussion.

In our youth Religious Exploration class, which starts at 11:30am after the Story for All Ages in the service, we’ll be doing some work related to our Cornucopia Permaculture Garden.

After service, please join us for our monthly potluck lunch held the 3rd Sunday of every month. Bring enough for your family plus one. To help our friends and guests with allergies, if you include nuts or nut products in contributions, please indicate such with a small sign.
