Join us Sunday, January 21 at 11am to hear Rev. Rus Cooper Dowda share the sermon, “The ‘Outside Agitators’ Who Lived Next Door.”
“There is much to be found in the story of how the Birmingham, Alabama Unitarian Universalist church dealt with their love of their home state in the extended George Wallace era,” says Rev. Rus. “It was a very difficult time locally. But, it was also a time when the smallest of actions could make meaningful differences. That created a great deal of unexpected ongoing group energy to expend in Birmingham, Montgomery and Selma during the Civil Rights era.”
Prior to the service, at 10am join us for our Adult Discussion Group. Youth Religious Exploration starts at 11:30, after the Story for All Ages.
This coming Sunday is also our New Visitors Gathering, after services, welcoming all our recent visitors and guest to spend some time together learning about our church and our faith.
