Guest minister Rev. Rus Cooper-Dowda shares her sermon, “Pre-Thinking Several Seasonal Dinners (PTSSD)” at 11am Sunday, November 26.
“Real PTSD is a disability deserving of our respect and support. But, at this time of year many of us have also started thinking about family gatherings again,” says Rev.Rus. ” We all wish sometimes that we never got that promotion from the kids’ table. When you still may prefer veggies fights with small cousins over many adult table issues, what’s a UU to do?”
The Keystone Book Club meets at 10am in the Kerwin Reading Room adjacent to the kitchen, on this, the 4th Sunday of the month. Our November read is A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman Ove “is a curmudgeon, the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him the bitter neighbor from hell, but must Ove be bitter just because he doesn’t walk around with a smile plastered to his face all the time?” You don’t need to have read the book to join in – we all know Ove!
