Second Sundays mark our monthly Freethought Fellowship meetup. These approximately one hour talks on topics of general, secular interest sometimes include music, and always include stimulating conversation and great company. For our February Freethought meetup, we’re joined by Dr. Daniel Eckstein to hear about his medical mission work in the Dominican Republic.
Dr. Daniel Eckstein is a board certified family medicine physician in St. Petersburg, Fl. He graduated from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in June 2012. After completing his residency program in Family Medicine at Bayfront Hospital, he became a primary care physician at Bayfront for two years. Dr. Eckstein is now in private practice at the Roser Park Medical Center in St. Petersburg. Among Dr. Eckstein’s special interests are travel medicine and medical missions. He has participated in missions to Mexico, Belize, Haiti, the Phillipines, and the Domican Republic. In early March, he will return with USF’s Project World Health to the Dominican Republic for the tenth year.
At our February Meetup, Dr. Eckstein will be sharing his experiences in providing medical care to the residents of Dominican Republic , and a look at what the future holds for Dominicans and those helping them.
Join us to continue the discussion after his talk, with light food and refreshments. A donation of $5 per person is requested to help defray facilities and food expenses. Freethought Fellowship is held the 2nd Sunday of each month and covers a wide variety of topics and fields. If you would like to speak, please let us know.
