This Sunday, August 19, at 11am, guest minister Pastor Katie Culbert, shares the sermon, “Take the Risk!”
What risks do we take when we love, when we serve and when we grow our community and ourselves? How can these risks transform us and our world? Pastor Culbert will engage our feelings around the consequences of taking risks.
Katie was Intern Minister for two years in Sarasota, where she was ordained in 2016. She currently works as a Chaplain at Tampa General Hospital. Katie is involved in campaigns working to increase the minimum wage, create common sense gun legislation, reinstate felon’s voting rights and, most recently, she has gotten involved with the The Poor People’s Campaign which is uniting people across the country to challenge the evils of systemic racism, poverty, the war economy, ecological devastation and the nation’s distorted morality. Katie lives with her husband JD in Tampa with their children Desi and Casey.
