Join us this coming Sunday, September 9, at 11am, at our monthly Freethought Fellowship meetup, for a special presentation on creative movement by Karen Sun Ray Coletti, who will be demonstrating and teaching various dances from around the world and sharing some of her travel and performance experiences. She’ll have a variety of costumes on hand, as well.
Karen is co-founder, instructor and performance director of Hip Expressions Dance Studio in St. Petersburg and is an instructor at Vibe Dance Center in Largo. She performs and teaches workshops around the Tampa Bay area and beyond, as far as Europe. She has been dancing all of her life and has studied the dances from many different parts of the world, such as Polynesia, the Middle East and Europe. Learning and teaching cultural dances has been her focus for many years.
She directs a Polynesian dance troupe at Hip Expressions and is a founding member of the Sahnobar Dance Ensemble which was formed in 1993. She also performs and teaches dancing with fire props. Karen directs Hip Expression’s monthly show, currently held at their studio, which has taken place every month since 2004.
