October Freethought Fellowship: In Consideration of Personal Accountability

This month’s talk is by Jim Carey, a professional Human Resources Leader who drives business success by aligning leadership behaviors and HR programs to improve employee engagement. He’ll be sharing his timely thoughts on Personal Accountability.

Jim will help us explore how the concept of “The Drama Triangle” , which can provide a new perspective on personal accountability and inspire listeners to be more aware of their actions and strive to hold themselves personally accountable, even when in those situations when it most difficult to do so. The goal of the talk is to provide a positive experience that enlightens people with a new way to understand human behavior that will motivate them to examine their behavior as it relates to personal accountability.

We’ll:

• Understand and apply “The Drama Triangle” framework to how we hold ourselves accountable for what we do and say.
• Look at how we behave, react and cope through the lens of “The Drama Triangle”
• Look at our on-line conversations (what we say and how we react) and our overall digital presence through the lens of “The Drama Triangle”

Join us to continue the discussion after Jim’s talk, with light food and refreshments. A donation of $5 per person is requested to help defray facilities and food expenses.

Freethought Fellowship is held the 2nd Sunday of each month and covers a wide variety of topics and fields. If you would like to speak, please let us know.

Special Collection to Benefit Hurricane Matthew Victims

While we don’t normally take up a collection at our Freethought Fellowship meetups, due to the circumstances of Hurricane Matthew and the widespread devastation and destruction caused by the storm to our north Florida neighbors,  we will have a special collection to benefit those affected by the storm.

The money raised will go to the UU church of Panama City, called UU Fellowship of Bay County. The area includes Mexico CIty FL and Panama CIty, both hard hit by the hurricane.

If you are unable to be at church on Sunday, please send your check, attention Chris Chirolas for Hurricane Michael relief. Please make it out to SLUU, as we will send one check from our congregation.
