Long time Spirit of Life UU member, and local author, Terri Willingham, leads the sermon, The Power of Resiliency – or How to Get up Again (and again and again) , on December 29 at 11am.
As we head into the New Year, at the start of our 21st century Roaring Twenties, few skills are as in demand as resiliency. At its most fundamental definition, resiliency is the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties and challenges. It also means durability and elasticity, traits we all need more than ever.
Willingham, who is also the executive director of the nonprofit, Foundation for Community Driven Innovation, and co-founder of the Advanced Manufacturing & Robotics Center (AMRoC ) Fab Lab, at University Mall in Tampa, will share her considerable experience in being repeatedly knocked down and getting back up again and why she believes these Failure Squats are one of the best core-strengthening character-building exercises available to the human spirit!
The Keystone Book Club also meets this Sunday, at 10am, prior to the service.
