Sunday, January 10th at 11am, please Zoom in with us to hear guest presenter, Dell deChant, share the service, Our Costly Privilege.
deChant, Associate Chair and Master Instructor of the University of South Florida Department of Religious Studies, will help us consider the challenges and opportunities created when an agrarian sensibility informs understandings of self, vocation, community, and the planet as a whole. Both the challenges and the opportunities grow out of the striking contrasts between an agrarian consciousness and the dominant worldview of contemporary American culture.
This topic is important, he says, because of the challenges we are having responding to the catastrophic ecological crisis. It’s time, he says, for “a commitment to heightened engagement with agrarianism – knowing the sources of our existence and living accordingly.”
