Sharing and Caring Opportunities
Share the Plate for February: Homeless Empowerment Program
Our Share the Plate charity this month is the Homeless Empowerment Program. The mission of the Homeless Empowerment Program (HEP) is to “break the cycle of homelessness for the thousands of people we help each year. We monitor our programs to measure progress against stated goals and make necessary refinements throughout the process. Since 1986, our mission has been to provide homeless and low-income individuals and families, including veterans, with housing, food, clothing and support services necessary to obtain self-sufficiency and improved quality of life.
When you send your weekly contribution to Spirit of Life UU, via a check in the mail or Paypal, you can also specific what portion of you contribution you’d to give to Share the Plate and what is your pledge/weekly donation.
Unitarian Universalist General Assembly
General Assembly will be held this year virtually on June 23-27, 2021. This is the largest gathering of UU’s in the world and is a powerful experience. Last year’s virtual experience was excellent especially for the first time being virtual. Please email SpiritoLifeUU@gmail.com if you are interested. Serving as a volunteer waives the conference fee.
