March 21 Service: Celebrate Spring with Flower Communion

Flower Communion is an annual Unitarian Universalist celebration that honors beauty, human uniqueness, diversity, and community.

Originally created in 1923 by Unitarian minister Norbert Capek of Prague, Czechoslovakia, the Flower Ceremony was introduced to the United States by Rev. Maya Capek, Norbert’s widow. Typically, everyone in the congregation brings a flower to add to a shared vase. The congregation and minister bless the flowers, and they’re redistributed. Each person brings home a different flower than the one they brought. In our virtual Flower Communion, you can bring a flower or many to our Zoom service or enjoy our virtual ones!

Email SpiritoLifeUU@gmail.com for Zoom link to enjoy this festive celebration and the start of Spring, with us at 11am on Sunday, March 21!

Unitarian Universalist General Assembly

General Assembly will be held this year virtually on June 23-27, 2021. This is the largest gathering of UU’s in the world and is a powerful experience. Last year’s virtual experience was excellent especially for the first time being virtual. Please email SpiritoLifeUU@gmail.com if you are interested. Serving as a volunteer waives the conference fee.
